Why an instant pay platform is important

The current method of paying employees is failing hourly-wage workers. Three-quarters of working Americans live paycheck to paycheck, unsure if they’ll get paid for their earned work by the time their bills are due. For many, that means skipping meals, selling possessions, taking on any extra work or going through extreme measures - just to make ends meet.

Several turn to high-interest payday loans to bridge the gap, but that compounds the issue. A staggering amount is charged in fees and interest rates on loans that are typically used to pay for food and rent. In 2017, workers spent $188 billion in lending service fees and interest charges. To put that into perspective, that’s four times the US education budget. This problem is putting an additional burden on everyday workers, and it deserves a solution. It’s the reason we do what we do.

Our mission is to fix the pay frequency problem at its root by providing businesses and their employees with an instant pay platform. In changing how money moves, we empower those who need it the most to achieve the financial well-being they need to take charge of their lives. We’ve found the solution and now our goal is to put it in the hands of millions of working Americans.

    Steve has spent the past two decades utilizing the key principles of “operating with integrity” and “acting with urgency” to develop successful technology companies.

    To Instant, Steve brings an extensive background delivering financial technology to large enterprise Customers. Prior to Instant, Steve served as both the CIO and EVP of Mobile for TIO Networks (NASDAQ: PYPL) leading the mobile business unit while driving the company’s engineering, IT, and product teams. Steve was also previously the founding CEO of Santra Technology, the pioneer of Web Services QoS and performance monitoring, along with holding senior management positions at Saba (NASDAQ: SABA), TELUS Enterprise Solutions (TSE:T) and Emerge Online.

    Ryan VolbergChief Product Officer

    Ryan is a technology entrepreneur, product innovator and market leader. His experience spans more than 20 years and includes leading the growth of four start-ups into successful and large-sized companies and exits, including one of the the largest POS acquisitions in North American history, a products and services deal sold to Sodexo.

    His past roles include Founder and CEO of Vivonet (acquired by Marlin Equity), which he held for over 15 years, Founder and CEO of Volberg Ventures and Director of BCRFA.

    Prior to Instant, Marc was Director of Growth Channels at Hootsuite where he established a global team while achieving exponential growth in both customer acquisition and revenue.
