Wages & Wellbeing: Analyzing The Impact of Same-day Pay

In 2018, Instant Financial conducted a survey – the first of its kind – that analyzed the impact of same-day pay on the American workforce, including overall financial well-being, job consideration, job application and offer acceptance.

We conducted the same study in 2022 to understand the changes that have occurred over the past four years. The full report, available here, offers some valuable insights for HR leaders related to the American workforce, including:

  • 54% of working Americans worry several times a week or more about making their money last until payday (an increase from 29% in 2018)
  • 79% of Americans would be more interested in applying for a job that pays them the same day they work – which is 30% higher than in 2018
  • More than half (56%) of working Americans would stay a month to a year longer at a job if they could get immediate access to their wages without fees
